The 6863 is a nifty little adapter that let s you mount all kinds of hot or cold shoe accessories to your camera, a bracket, tripod, light stand, and more. Using its own cold foot you can attach the 6863 to the top of your camera. Or, use the common 1 4 -20 threaded port (located in the base of the cold foot) to connect the 6863 to a tripod, light stand, studio clamp with spigot, or ??? Once mounted, you can connect all kinds of accessories such as speedlights, tranceivers, on-camera LED lights, a microphone, and more to any of the 4 cold shoes on the 6863.
